One in a series of wood engraved greeting cards produced by Kenneth Wallace-Crabbe at his Melbourne studio in the 1960s/early 1970s under the heading of Australian Retrospect. This card depicts a group of Aboriginal men observing a camp of settlers. The caption reads: “SURPRISED Macquarie River blacks see their lush ‘Fish River’ lands invaded by white settlers in the 1815 rush from Sydney across the Blue Mountains.” The interior contains a short printed greeting and his studio details printed on the verso.
