Full brown leather, rebacked, gilt lettering, date panel, and top edge, raised bands, blind decoration to spine, triple panelled with decoration, and blind wine cup decoration. Privately printed in an edition of two hundred and four copies on Tuscany handmade paper, The Torch Press, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

    An endorsement of drinking, a lot, and a history of peoples and societies that enjoyed imbibing, primarily wine, but also of other liquors. Published under the name Boniface Oinophilus, now credited as a translation from the French of Albert Henri de Sallengre by Robert Samber. “Wherein is authentically, and most evidently proved, the necessity of frequently getting drunk; and that the practice of getting drunk is most Antient, Primitive, and Catholic. Confirmed by the example of Heathens, Turks, Infidels, Primitive Christians, Saints, Popes, Bishops, Doctors, Philosophers, Poets, Free Masons, and other Men of Learning in All Ages.”.
