    First Edition.

    33cm x 26cm. 80, 96, 96, 96 pages, photographs and illustrations, many in colour. Pictorial papered boards.

All four issues of the 1962 hardbound periodical on love and sex, Eros, edited and published by Ralph Ginzburg. Ginzburg was indicted for obscenity in 1963 and the publication ceased. Number three features nude photographs of Marilyn Monroe by Bert Stern from her final studio portrait session before her death. Other notable inclusions are works by Ray Bradbury and Allen Ginsberg, as well as features on John F. Kennedy and Frank Harris, among plenty of other erotic material that pushed the bounds of US censorship law in the early 1960s.

Minor soiling and marks to boards of volume 1. Very minor soiling and a very minor bump to spine crown of volume 2. Minor shelf wear and bubbling to papered boards, and a minor bump to spine tail of volume 3. Minor discolouration to boards of volume 4, and a small mark to endpaper where is laid in some Eros promotional matter. Very Good Condition.
