On the day of his 85th birthday, Robert Brown set down in his prefatory introduction to this book the reasons for which he wrote it. Principally, he writes, “I have simply sought to present the truths of God in an explicit and comprehensive form; so that unenlightened sinners may thereby be taught and instructed; and believers themselves may be “built up in their most holy faith.”” By combining thematically linked sections from throughout the scriptures, Brown addresses many aspects of the words of God, Jesus and the disciples. This text also contains an appendix, including “Brief Thoughts Upon Matthew XI. 18;” and short articles upon, “Where Are Spirits Of The Righteous dead?” “The Coming Of The Lord;” and “The Judgment Seat of Christ.”

Moderate wear to board edges. Very minor mottling to cloth. Front hinge cracking, still firm. Minor foxing to endpapers. Previous owner’s signature, stamped over on half-title. Good Condition.
