    35.5cm x 42cm. 8 pages, 8 colour plates. Lettered wrappers.

Though he was a respected watercolour painter in his time, and was even knighted for his contribution to the British arts in 1947, Sir William Russell Flint’s eroticised depictions of women remained too sensual for many critics of his day. In this short, beautiful collection of eight paintings, the charm and delicacy of Flint’s work on both landscapes and human forms shines through. The foreword by Malcolm C. Salaman, also, provides a witness’s insight into the conversations around British art at the time, making this both a historical artefact and an artistic treasure.

Wrappers split. Chipping to edges. Bumped bottom outside corner. Light bumped top outside and bottom spine corner. Small portion of front top spine corner cover missing. Biopredation to covers. Foxing to pages. 8 tipped in colour plates. 3 plates are Fine, 5 plates are Very Good with only small fold crease marks to the bottom left corner of the 5 plates. Good Condition.
