‘An Introduction to the Study of Embryology’ was the first published book by Alfred Cort Haddon (1855-1940). Originally a biologist he later became an influential anthropologist and ethnologist conducting notable fieldwork in the Torres Strait and effectively founding the School of Anthropology at Christ’s College, Cambridge.
