Reputed to be the first New Zealand science fiction novel; authored by the eighth premier of the country, Sir Julius Vogel (1835-1899), set partially in Australia and New Zealand. A prophetic utopian romance telling of a future world led by women. The Colonial Edition being the true first edition preceding the UK First Edition by several months.

Spine lightly creased with a <2cm split at the centre of the crown. Some small soil marks to the cloth. Contemporary previous owner's name. Minor foxing.. Good Condition.
