    South African swimming booklet in two parts, the first an essay on Australian Swimming Methods by Sam Herford, off the back of his successful coaching campaign at the 1956 Melbourne Games. On the title page Herford is described as a “Famous Coach from Sydney, N.S.W.”. Herford begins with an overview of the swimming club system in Australia, before moving on to technique training, and finally observations on swimming in Southern Africa. In the second part of the booklet South African swimming personality Harry Getz outlines his observations at the 1958 Commonwealth Games in Wales. Unrecorded in OCLC at December, 2021. This copy bearing the stamp of John T. Powell, former exercise specialist at the University of Guelph who was heavily involved in the Olympics since the 1930s.
