Crawford Barton (1943-1993) was an American photographer who by the mid 1970s was firmly established as a leading photographer of the “golden age of gay awakening” in San Francisco. Beautiful Men was the only monograph of his work published during his lifetime and features intimate portraits of stylish gents, long haired freaks, leathermen, and more from across the subcultures of gay America.
