John Vassos, American artist and industrial designer, was a pioneer of the art deco style, creating shapes and designs for radio, television, computer, and broadcasting equipment for nearly four decades. Contempo is credited with launching his career as a modern artist and showcases his geometrical, cubist, and constructivist style, accompanying his wife Ruth Vassos’ textual critique of post-war American society. This copy inscribed by John Vassos to Louis Lazarus.
Good Condition in Fair Jacket. Very minor rubbing to cloth edges. Minor tanning. Crease to plate 4 (The Subway), probably as issued. Minor scratch to plate 20 (Suburbia). Jacket chipped and torn with extensive amateur tape repair to spine and edges. Good Condition.
