Illustrated work of women of colour of Australian music, the first such book of its kind. The work contains micro-biographies of over 100 artists each accompanied by an original artwork produced by Walker. The work was withdrawn shortly after publication due to backlash from several of the women featured in the book over biographical errors causing offence. Most copies were pulped, with only a small number sold before being withdrawn. One of the most recent cases of Australian literature suppression with numerous public statements regarding the work available. CAINS 171.
