21.5cm x 13cm. 225, [3] pages, 10 colour plates. Half vellum, marbled papered boards, manuscript lettering.

Clandestine 1930s French pornographic novel with 10 well executed colour illustrations depicting lesbian, hetero, and group sex scenes, one with spanking. Limited to 600 numbered copies printed by Maurice Darantiere. DUTEL 1605, notes the original illustrations in his collection titled Veronique and intended to illustrate this text, perhaps it was a model provided to the publisher. The anonymous artist attributed by some to Feodor Rojankovsky [Rojan], by others to Louis Berthomme Saint-Andre, others yet to T. Mertens, though none of these quite add up, and to date this one remains a much admired mystery. This copy with the bookplate of erotica collector Alain Metivier.

Rebound in half vellum without the original wrappers, new front flyleafs. The plates have been numbered in manuscript at the lower margin. The frontispiece plate loose and laid in. Very minor foxing and soiling. Very Good Condition.
