5 pieces of Salvation Army ephemera being programmes and rehearsal booklets for Young Peoples Demonstrations. The Y.P. Demonstrations were performances of song and prayer by children as part of the proceedings of annual Salvation Army Congresses. Newspaper reports indicate these demonstrations were performed by hundreds of children at a time, with one Sydney Congress reported to have over 600 children demonstrating. This lot includes 5 pieces relating to demonstrations as part of the Queensland State Congress, being: 1. Queensland Congress Young People’s Demonstration, 1928, Souvenir Programme; 2. Queensland Congress Programme of the Young People’s Demonstration, 1929; 3. Rehearsal sheet music and lyrics, 1929; 4. Rehearsal sheet music and lyrics, 1930; 5. Rehearsal sheet music and lyrics, 1953.

Pieces are in Good to Fair Condition. Tearing to edges of 1928 programme with a cut near spine repaired with tape. Splitting to folds of 1929 programme and 1930 rehearsal notes. Minor wear to 1929 and 1953 rehearsal notes. Good Condition.
