The scarce first edition (predating the US edition by one year) of English writer Gordon Langley Hall’s MtF transition shortly followed by her interracial marriage to John-Paul Simmons the following year, one of the first in South Carolina after the landmark civil rights decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia ruling that laws banning interracial marriage violate the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
