    John Vassos, American artist and industrial designer, was a pioneer of art deco. In Phobia, Vassos works in the style to convey strong emotions and psychological insights into the human condition. In the introduction, he explains, “A phobia is essentially graphic. The victim creates in his mind a realistic picture of what he fears, a mental image of a physical thing.” Doctors and general viewers have considered this work a masterpiece since its publication in 1931. First Edition limited to 1,500 signed and numbered copies of which this is number 1,041.
