30.5cm x 22cm. [76] pages, colour illustrations. Illustrated matte papered boards.

The first posthumous monograph of Japanese artist Sadao Hasegawa (1945-1999). Hasegawa has been called “Japan’s Tom of Finland because of his celebratory stance towards male homosex, much symbolic emphasis on male-male eroticism and Japan-style sado-masochism. But the similarity ends there. His work is a riot of bright optimistic colour and his symbolisms go deep into the myth and legend of the non-Western world.” This volume is dedicated to Hasegawa’s rarely -published archive.
