    A promotional history of San Francisco’s lavish 1920s Fox Theatre. The extravagant creation of movie pioneer William Fox (eponym of the present-day Fox Corporation), Fox Theatre opened in 1929 shortly before William’s financial demise. This booklet was published ahead of a Proposition put to voters in 1961 for the City & County of San Francisco to buy the theatre. The people voted NO and the theatre was demolished in 1963.
