    Stirling engines, developed in 1816 by Scotsman Robert Stirling to rival the steam engine, were mostly used for low-power domestic applications. It is a closed cycle system, heating a gas to produce mechanical power. This copy inscribed Walker on title page.

    Near Fine Condition in Good Jacket. Very minor shelf wear and tanning. Clipped jacket with spine and edges discoloured, and two 2cm closed tears. Near Fine Condition.
