    The fetish comic adventures Sweet Gwendoline, the most well known work by British Singaporean illustrator (later based in North America, via Brisbane, Australia) John Alexander Scott Coutts (1902-1962). Coutts, better known by his pseudonym John Willie, moved to Brisbane in 1926 where he ingratiated himself in the shoe fetish scene, producing countless fetish and dominatrix illustrations distributed via the networks of a local High Heels Club. In the 1940s Coutts moved to North America and began publishing Bizarre magazine, later working with Irving Klaw. Coutts was an influential BDSM artist, inspiring the likes of Eric Stanton and Gene Bilbrew.
