Being an adaptation by Mulla Husain Bin Ali Al Wai’z-Al-Kashifi of The Fables of Bidpai. Translated from the Persian by Arthur N. Wollaston. The 1877 English translation by Arthur Naylor Wollaston (1842-1922) of the Persian version of the Panchatantra, an ancient collection of animal fables. Wollaston began work as a civil servant in the India Office at age 16 going onto become registrar. He was also an ardent Persian scholar, translating this work, as well as compiling an English-Persian Dictionary in 1882.
