Seminal work on early Australian golf published the year after Dan Soutar (1882-1937) won Open Champion of Australasia. “This is a book which golf players of every degree of proficiency or ineptitude may study with advantage, and the explanations are so simple that the veriest duffer, after reading them, will be utterly unable to account for the regularity with which he either misses the ball altogether or misplaces the turf and the secretary’s temper simultaneously.” (Sydney Daily Telegraph, 6 October 1906) Not only a technique book, also described Australia’s best golfers and courses and provides a history of the sport in the country at the time.

Minor marks and wear to cloth. Previous owner’s inscription to front free endpaper and name in pencil to title page. Minor foxing. Very Good Condition.
