A historical, religious, and medical history of vision with chapters on The Evil Eye, Patron Gods and Saints of Vision, Folklore and Eye Symptoms, and Sexual Behaviour of the Human Eye. Edward Stuart Gifford (1907-?) was an ophthalmologist by trade and his enjoyment for the study of the eye extended well beyond his paid work. This copy inscribed by Gifford to a fellow doctor.

Minor general wear to boards. Very minor toning to endpapers. Jacket has some small chips and tears to edges. Very Good Condition.
