    Second Edition.

21cm x 14.5cm. viii, 280 pages, black and white illustrations. Red cloth, black lettering, illustrated jacket.

First printing of the Bell edition of “the complete compendium of campy cuisine and menus for men…or what have you” by Chef Lou Rand Hogan. Campy cartoons by David Costain. The first cookbook marketed to the gay man. Hogan, after a failed attempt at a career in show business, learned the art of cooking fine cuisine working luxury cruises where he was part of a deliciously camp work culture, the humour of which is evident in his writing style. An early example of positive gay culture in 20th century print media.

Minor bumping to corners with a <1cm closed tear to the spine crown. Inkstamp of William G. Lewis to front and rear free endpapers, title page, and heading of chapter 4, rest of interior clean and bright. Clipped jacket shelf worn with small chips and tears to the edges. Good Condition.
