    First Edition.

    21cm x 14.5cm. 46 volumes. Illustrated wrappers.

A complete set of the quarterly journal dedicated to the Hermetic tradition edited by Adam McLean in the original 42 parts from 1978-1988 and together with the original printings of the final four annual volumes, 1989-1992. The Hermetic Journal was one of the few 20th century journals dedicated to the study of alchemy, Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism, and other esoteric traditions. In its fourteen year history the journal published over one thousand articles ranging from serious scholarly works to those of a more speculative nature, but under the editorship of McLean the journal remained steadfast in its approach to a high quality study of alchemy and hermetic philosophy. Contributors include Gareth Knight, Stephen Skinner, Kenneth Clark, Ithell Colquhoun, Joscelyn Godwin, and many others. Sold largely by subscription, circulation of the original issues was small, reportedly ranging from 300 to 400 copies.

Most of the first 42 volumes with a minor to very minor amount of highlighting, a few with very minor soiling or minor shelf and handling wear. The annual volumes with some creasing to wrappers and minor foxing to edges. Very Good Condition.
