Maurice Noble (1911-2001) was an American animation and background artist who worked for more than 60 years for companies such as Warner Brothers, Disney, MGM, and Hanna-Barbera. Recruited by Disney in 1934 the first feature length film he worked on was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He also worked on Fantasia and Dumbo. During World War 2 he served in a small unit responsible for providing posters, booklets, and films for the military. This unit was led by Theodore Geisel (well known as Dr. Seuss) and he later worked on several Dr. Seuss animated movies. It was in this unit that he also met animation director Chuck Jones, with whom he worked for many years.
