The first series of a collection of fugitive poems authored before 1823, many of which published here for the first time. Committed to the press in 1824 the collection remained unpublished until 1828 for mysterious reasons of the assignees of the publisher’s estate. A second series of poems authored from 1823 was published in 1829. This copy in contemporary leather with an engraved title page dated 1828 with the imprint of Hurst, Chance, and Co. Minor rubbing to leather. Previous owner’s inscription faded, ink marks to engraved title page with the lettering of London traced over. Minor foxing, mostly to last few pages. Occasional minor soiling and handling marks. Minor crack before the final two gatherings, still firm. Very Good Condition.
