    The Royal Exchange was at first a gentlemen’s club, with early members including David Jones, John Fairfax, Thomas Sutcliffe Mort, Robert Towns and William Charles Wentworth. From 1864 it was the largest wool auction house in the world, and in 1871 it became the home of the Sydney Stock Exchange. This brochure shows its place and services in the late 1940s, and there is a tipped-in slip updating Membership fees to January 1952. It includes a list of members in 1947 and a list of publications available to members.
