Photobook of Brazilian immigrant transsexual sex workers in early 1980s Paris. Produced with his wife, actress Brigitte Ariel, Newman, who had been working for LUI magazine and started photographing for Playboy the same year as The Ultimate Angels was published, brings both intimacy and glamour to his subjects. The book was ahead of its time, an exhibition of the photographs appearing for the first time over 30 years later at Herrick Gallery in 2017 alongside paintings by Aphrodite Papadatou.
