The Book Merchant Jenkins provides a full in-house domestic and international shipping service for lots won via our auctions.
A packing and handling charge of AU$10 for single book and small groups of lots applies. Large box lot(s) are charged at AU$20 per box. Large and fragile lots billed per half-hour.
Postage costs are charged at our contract carrier rates on top of the handling fee and shipped via the most practical carrier, usually Australia Post or DHL, though other couriers may be used. Standard, EMS, and Express Courier services are available.
All amounts stated below are estimates and provided only as a guide. While we endeavour to keep these as accurate as possible actual shipping costs and available shipping services to your destination can vary depending on final packed weight and dimensions, value, any applicable surcharges such as fuel or destination, or a number of other factors.

Most single book lots within Australia will cost $10 to $20 for standard or $10 to $30 for express depending on weight and destination.
Most single box lots from $15 to $30 for standard or $15 to $45 for express.
Remote areas may be more. These amounts do not include the handling charge (min. $10) or the cost of insurance, which is 1% of the total hammer value.

- Single book lot won for $200 and weighing 1kg to Melbourne will cost $21 ($10 handling + $9 shipping + $2 insurance)
- Single book lot won for $1,500 and weighing 1kg to Mount Isa, QLD will cost $37 ($10 handling + $12 shipping + $15 insurance)
- Single box lot won for $100 and weighing 15kg to Sydney will cost $43 ($20 handling + $22 shipping + $1 insurance)

If the final size of your parcel is light but has large dimensions a cubic rate may apply. - Single book lot won for $500 and weighing 1kg to Germany will cost $89 ($10 handling + $74 shipping + $5 insurance)
- Single box lot won for $100 and weighing 20kg to Japan will cost $225 ($20 handling + $204 shipping + $1 insurance)
For international shipments it is the Buyers responsibility to be aware of any export or import limitations, restrictions, duties, taxes, or any other issue which may hinder the delivery of any purchase. The Auctioneer will not be responsible for any tax, duty, licence, or other requirement of an importer. The Auctioneer will not be liable for any cost or damages resulting from the Buyer being unaware of their obligations as an importer.
EU customers especially be aware of any VAT that may apply and be due to the carrier before delivery.
