About half are of European ancestry taken by well known photographers suich as Walter Bird, Perkhammer, John Everard, Hoppe, and Manasse. The latter half includes women from Africa, Asia, the Far East, and the Pacific, including a photograph of a Central Australian Aboriginal woman and of two Maori women.
