Photobook of Ama, traditional Japanese sea divers, the majority of which were women. Historical records of female pearl divers date back to 927 AD. Originally published in 1962 this is the limited second edition, this copy numbered 277 of 2,500. Photographs by Yoshinobu Nakamura, text by Tsuneichi Miyamoto.
Near Fine Condition in Very Good Jacket and Slipcase in Good Publisher’s Box. Very minor wear to corners.Minor foxing to jacket verso. Minor marks to slipcase. Box has some foxing and is edges rubbed. Near Fine Condition.
