Photobook of Ama, traditional Japanese sea divers, the majority of which were women. Historical records of female pearl divers date back to 927 AD. Originally published in 1962 this is the limited second edition, this copy numbered 924 of 2,500. Photographs by Yoshinobu Nakamura, text by Tsuneichi Miyamoto.
Slipcase is in Good Condition with rubbing to one corner, and small surface tear near the top edge of the front panel and some minor marks and shelf wear. Very minor foxing to edges and minor foxing to jacket verso. Very Good Condition.
