The work surveys lysergic acid derivatives, mescaline and other phenethylamines, indolealkylamines, piperidyl benzilate esters, phencyclidine-related compounds, and other hallucinogenic agents, while critically assessing claims for their therapeutic use in alcoholism, depression, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric disorders.
