Early interwar Austrian antisemitic tract. Daniek, a journalist and functionary of the Christlichsoziale Partei (CSP), wrote it as a central document of Christian Social antisemitism, and the party deployed it specifically against the Austrian Social Democrats in the February 1919 “Fluchtlings-Nationalratswahlkampf”, the first of the Republic’s so-called “refugee election campaigns”. It was used again in the May 1919 Vienna municipal election and the October 1920 National Council election. The pamphlet’s central argument was an antisemitic conspiracy theory portraying Austrian Jews who had fled Galicia and Bukovina during WWI as responsible for Austria’s wartime social and economic crisis, and it advocated a visible and aggressive attack on the Jewish population. A primary source for organised antisemitic politics in the immediate post-war Austrian Republic.
