First French translation of the important Dutch obstetrics manual by Jan Bernard Jacobs (1734-1790). At the time of its appearance, it was one of the most complete treatises on the art of childbirth and remained a standard work into the middle of the nineteenth century being described as a pearl of scientific production from the last years before the French Revolution.
Some splitting to joints, still firm. Corners rubbed. The two dedication leaves tanned (as often), interior otherwise clean and bright. Very Good Condition.
