First US Edition of a photo-essay on Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Festival) by Tamotsu Yato, with an introduction, ‘On Nakedness and Shame’, by Yukio Mishima. Essays by Tasuo Hagiwara, Mutsuro Takahashi, and Kozo Yamaji, and a short guide with calendar to Naked Festivals of Japan.

Near Fine Condition in Good Jacket. Very minor general wear to board edges. Clipped jacket with crease to front flap, minor chip to spine crown, small rub to jacket upper spine edge, and 5.5cm tear to lower flap corner at tail with a small rub a few cm above the tear. Near Fine Condition.
