    111 pages of scrapbooked newspaper clippings, being extracts from American newspapers of the early to mid 1800s. Clippings appear to come from a variety of sources and bear no overall theme, though topics include numerous clippings of Mr. Combe’s Lectures of Phrenology, as well as other lectures and literary, poetical, and religious contributions, legal proceedings against a shoemaker cabal, a statistical account of the English navy, obituaries, a priced catalogue of teas from the New York branch of the Pekin Tea Emporium, treatments for small pox, slavery, army pay, travel, capital punishment, California, the city of Albany, electricity, charcoal, and more.

    Shelfwear and rubbing to boards. Staining to front endpaper, flyleaf, and first page, and occasional soiling and staining throughout. Rippling to pages from scrapbook adhesive. Some gatherings characteristically tender. Good Condition.
