The Olympian Vol. II, No. 9 (July, 1934)

First Edition.

23cm x 15cm. 12 pages, black and white illustrations. Illustrated saddle-stapled self-wrappers.

Single issue of the newsletter of early American nudist organisation the Olympian League, issued shortly after a raid on one of the group’s events at a Manhattan gymnasium led to charges against the editor. Although those involved were ultimately acquitted, the backlash against the ruling helped bring about the 1935 New York state anti-nudism ban. This issue discusses the organising of a national nudist body in light of the case, part of a feature on Tony Sansone, and more. No holdings of The Olympian recorded in OCLC.

Light vertical crease. Very Good Condition.
