China Inland Mission. Mr. and Mrs. Bosshardt were captured by the Red Armies in Kweichow. Mrs. Bosshardt was liberated almost immediately, though Mr. Bosshardt was held in captivity for 560 days, forced to accompany the Red Army on the Long March. This fresh account published the same year as his freedom. This copy inscribed on a pasted in sheet to the half-title, To our good friend Gordon, with our best wishes for the New Year 1937. Shelf worn with a few holes to upper board, chipping to spine head and tail, and slight discolouration to spine. Tanning to endpapers, some foxing to first and last few leaves, thin dampstain to fore-edge of first few leaves. Good Condition.
