On solicitation within Parisian brasseries and cafes during mid to late 19th century. With illustrations by Fernand Fau. This copy with an autograph annotation in pencil to the first page describing the work as an exaggeration, though this was based on the writer’s singular visit to one brasserie as a gift from their father on the occasion of passing their exams: he found the brasserie orderly and the waitresses well behaved.

Foxing. Very minor chipping to spine tail. Some pencil marginalia. Good Condition.
